A party after college graduation can be a great way to celebrate the achievements of a recent college grad. Combine this amazing time of commencement with a fun celebration with all of your family and friends to send yourself off into the real world. One way of ensuring a successful graduation party is a catchy theme.
Most recent graduates will have a ton of pride and passion for their school. Use your school as a theme for the party. Use the school colors, mascots, pennants, etc. from your school to decorate the party. Take advantage of school organized activities specific to graduation celebration.
Your degree and career path can be used as a theme for your graduation party as well. This can be a meaningful way to salute your efforts and professional endeavors. If your career path leans towards medicine, then you could, for example, set the dress code of the party to doctors and nurses. Activities can also spice up your party; keep them appropriate to your theme, such as a game for your guests to name random parts of the human body.
Highlight your hobbies and extra-curricular activities during college with a party theme appropriate, such as a sports themed party. Likewise, if you were extremely involved in the environmental club, host a green party. Yes that means veggies and recyclable/reusable tableware and decorations. You get the idea.
Lastly, if you feel like you’re just not quite ready to leave college yet after graduation, throw a good old college themed party. Bring back out the red cups, cheap alcohol, beer keg, and obvious college outfits. Let those celebrating with you, whether they have been through college already or have yet to, experience college with you one last time.
Whatever the theme you pick for your college graduation party, I recommend you make it unique to yourself and fit to your preference because you earned the spotlight for graduating from college. Not to mention you’ll only have this spotlight once in a lifetime. Have some other ideas for college graduation party themes? Feel free to share and comment below!
