Good News For 2015 Grads

2014 is quickly coming to a close, and if you are planning to graduate in 2015 there is some good news on the horizon.

According to the 2015: Job Outlook from monster.com, there are sunny skies ahead for 2015 graduates looking for employment post college. The report cited a study out from Michigan State that forecasted a 16 percent uptick in hiring for new grads.

If you happen to be graduating with an advanced degree like an MBA, the stats are even more in your favor as job openings for MBA holders will jump by 38 percent compared to 2014. Doctorate holders’ prospects rise 20 percent this year with a 19 percent leap for associate’s degrees and 16 percent for bachelor’s.

So what are the industries that will be going on the hiring bender? According to Monster, jobs will grow in the business, finance, scientific services, manufacturing, health, insurance and nonprofit sectors.

While the overall outlook is great for new grads, the report does warn about new grads being overcome with millennial malaise. It warns that some recent graduates could become unfocused or unmotivated which will show in everything from their cover letter writing to job interviewing skills.

So, if you are looking for a job after your 2015 graduation, start updating your resume now and be sure to dot all the “i”s and cross all the “t”s.
