\t\t\t\tThis particular blog post is going to be the hardest one to write, in my honest opinion, and it\u2019s because I\u2019m discussing something that everybody knows deep down in their hearts, but they don\u2019t practice out of habit, conditioning of society, and out of fear.<\/p>\n

I can go on and on about following your heart and achieving those life long dreams, but then there are the more logical people out there that don\u2019t believe in that because their biggest priority is to provide for their family, even if it means working at a job they\u2019re not enjoying.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s really hard to find a balance between the two and if you\u2019re one of those fortunate individuals who are blessed enough to make a decent living by doing what you love most, then good for you! Keep doing what you\u2019re doing!<\/p>\n

For the rest of us, it\u2019s ALLLLLL about finding the right fit. First, you need to figure out what you like to do, and then you need to figure out what you\u2019re good at and finding something out there where you can integrate the two.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ll use myself as an example: I wanted to transition out of the food and beverage industry and into a more digital world. A friend of mine said his company was looking to hire an entry-level analyst and I wanted that position SO BADLY.<\/p>\n

I wanted to be in a digital career field, I could totally be analytical, I was a fast learner, I\u2019m personable, etc. I thought I was an immediate shoe-in for the position. After getting through 3 rounds of interviews, I was told that as much as the company liked me and thought I was qualified, they went ahead and offered the position to someone who was naturally more analytical.<\/p>\n

Yeah, that’s exactly how I felt when I got the phone call saying that I didn’t get the job.<\/p>\n

News like this would usually end with hanging up and never hearing back from that company but instead they offered me a writing position because they noticed that I had a creative side and a natural love to write. It\u2019s also how I came to write these blog posts.<\/p>\n

Thinking back on it, I was initially really disappointed that I didn\u2019t get the position, but this current situation I have going on is so much better not just for me, but for everyone. I\u2019m working in my best element, while still getting what I want out of the job.<\/p>\n
