\t\t\t\tDo you use Snapchat? If you answered yes, than you are not alone. College students are among the biggest users of the photo messaging app that allows users to send photos, videos and texts to a recipient\u2019s phone for a limited amount of time (often just seconds) before disappearing.<\/p>\n

And despite a recent hack to the service, which resulted in approximately 100,000 private users’ photos and videos appearing online, students say they are still using the service with as much fervor as before the hack.<\/p>\n

Marketing firm Sumpto conducted a study that polled college students about the hack asking if they still used the app. Seventy-five percent of those surveyed said they don\u2019t give an extra thought to using Snapchat and upwards of 55 percent went so far as to say they trusted the Snapchat app. At least some of the students (18 percent) report communicating with their parents through the app, although the majority use Facebook to communicate with their parental units.<\/p>\n

Sumpto also polled college students on their preferred method of peer-to-peer payment. Far and away, cash was the most popular choice at 85 percent, with mobile payment service Venmo coming in second at 9 percent. Eighty percent of students surveyed said they would not use Facebook to send money to their friends or do not use\u00a0or Facebook messenger at all.<\/p>\n
