Are You The Tech Guy In The Family?

So this question probably comes up a lot during summer, spring and winter break… You’re tired from a quarter of classes and just want to relax, but when you get home dad and mom’s computer seem to have every type of virus or spyware installed.

What have they been downloading or watching?!

Eitherway, if you’re the “tech” guy for your family or relatives, check out this funny post on lifehacker.  I’m sure you can relate.

Looking for additional help? Google launched their teachparentstech.org web site late last year that covers teh basics from taking screenshots to changing screensavers, emailing, bookmarking web sites, and more.

And a shameless plug, if you’re a senior this year, start thinking about ordering your graduation sash!

Keeping In Touch With Family

Keeping in touch with family can be a tricky task in college. Daily calls to mom and dad turn into every other day, then weekly, then bi-weekly. If you’ve been removed from high school for a few years now, it’s also likely that you’ve lost touch with many of your high school buddies.

Worry not though, Skype has recently released an updated version of their iphone and ipad app that makes video conferencing much easier!

Hmm… this just made it even easier for them to see you in your graduation stole and gown on commencement day!

More on the Skype app.
